Winter time has come in strong, It’s rained, it’s blown, it’s snowed week-long. But it's Christmas! Time for lights and cheer, Dear Santa, here's my wish this year.
Christmas should be full of fun, of gifts and food and time with everyone. So many things to look forward to, And yet, this season is hard to get through.
We have some light, it’s just a tease, We wait for spring and the weather to ease.
When you’re like me, you know the struggle, Your health and happiness are hard to juggle.
Winter is not just cold and dark, It’s full of threats that can leave their mark. A simple flu could take hold, My healing time? It’s unforetold.
I could be sick for weeks and days, Even with the smallest cold, please stay away. I’ll be in bed or even worse, I may need some care from a nurse.
I love the Grinch, though he was mean and cold,
With the Christmas spirit, even he was sold. He sang, he gave, he gathered near, He joined the Who’s and held them dear.
I encourage you to spread that feeling, Just not the germs with which you’re dealing.
Please help me spread the joy and cheer,
Dear Santa, help me stay healthy this year.
That's the gift I ask of you, If you come sick, I will be too. I want to see you, I love Christmas! I do! I just prefer carols to singing Ah! Ah! AhCHOO!

I really like the poem. Upbeat and cheerful while getting a serious message across.
